Last updated: October 12, 2026

Data we collect

None. We don't run servers for this app and nothing you do in it is sent to us.

What stays on your phone

Your location, compass and motion data (used to show the sky above you and to follow your phone when you point it up), the camera picture in AR mode (shown on screen only, never recorded or uploaded), your settings, favourites, instruments and reminders.

Online services the app talks to

These requests are made directly from your phone, only to show you the data, and contain no identifiers:

Each service has its own privacy policy and may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses).

Notifications

ISS and sky-event alerts are scheduled on your phone. They don't use push servers.

Telescope control

If you connect a telescope, the app talks to it directly over your local network.

Children

Star Map doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
